Making use of Natural links

This is the holy grail for SEO-ers everywhere. Natural links are the hyperlinks used within your website to connect keywords to other products within your online store.

If you have collections in your store that offers a chance to upsell and include other products, this is the best way you can make use of these beautiful backlinks within your store and encourage your viewer to stay on your website a lot longer.

By adding these links in, you not only give yourself the opportunity to make multiple sales you may have not received before, it also gets google loving you so much more.

By making use of these backlinks within your site, it help googles little "crawlers" learn more about your brand as they go through each and every link you have. Giving them all the information they need to deliver the answers to the right person.

Your backlinks need to be a mixture of natural anchors, blended anchors, and exact match anchors.

Natural & blended keywords mean using keywords to hyperlink a section of your website that does not match the heading 100%. For example is you are sending someone that is in your jumpers section and you want to send them to shoes, instead of linking the word shoes to shoes, you can link the keyword “luxury footwear”. If you are linking a keyword to your blog, instead of linking the word “read here” - you would use “this article”. Another example is if your key phrase was “wedding rings,” a blended anchor might be “a good selection of wedding rings.”

Exact match anchors are when you use your key phrase by itself.

A natural profile requires:

  • 60% natural anchors
  • 35% blended anchors
  • 5% exact match anchors

(Note: as Google regularly changes its algorithm these numbers also change)

There are many reasons websites do or don’t rank.

You can be successful with SEO if you master the right combination of the following three things:

  1. Building great brand trust on the homepage
  2. Creating content on power pages that crush competitors
  3. Building high-quality backlinks to that content

You may do well by only implementing one or two of these techniques.
